Next Sunday, April 6, Chabad Hebrew School will join many local organizations, Mayor Bill White, Israel Consul General Asher Yarden and many others dignitaries for the Israel Parade that will march on Braes Bayou from Beth Israel to the Jewish Community Center. CHS will march as a group holding a sign with our school name and beautiful “mitzvah floats”. Please drop off your children at 9:30am at Beth Israel at 5600 N. Braeswood to join the Chabad Hebrew School section of the procession. All students participating should bring their Aleph Champ Medallions.
This IS a day of Hebrew School. While we wait for the parade formation and take off (10:30 am), students will sit in groups with their classes saying our morning prayers and have special fun activities prepared by our CHS teachers.
After you drop off your children you may find limited parking at the JCC (5601 S. Braeswood - across the street) and in the surrounding neighborhoods. There will also be satellite parking on a first come, first served basis at the Merfish Teen Center, (9000 S. Rice) and Beth Yeshurun (4525 Beechnut). Shuttle buses will transport spectators to the parade and back to their cars following the parade from the JCC until everyone has been transported back to his/her car. There will be no parking at Beth Israel due to construction. More info at www.houstonjewish.org/Israel60.asp
Please park your cars and join us in the parade (10:30am)!
CHS parents are responsible to join the parade or greet the parade when it arrives at the JCC. There will be only parental (and no CHS) supervision from when we reach the JCC.
